Account, site and subscription: which is which

Three separate things, often confused. Knowing which carries what saves you looking for a setting in the wrong place.

Many support questions come from confusing these three. They are easy to tell apart.

The account

That is you. An email address, a password, a profile. One account can carry several sites. It cannot be deleted from the client space: write to the Support Centre if you wish to.

The site

That is a business: its trade, its template, its content, its public address, its state — draft, online, or archived. If you run two separate businesses, you can have two sites on the same account.

The subscription

It is attached to ONE site, not to the account. Every published site has its own, with its own 30 days trial and its own renewal date. Stopping one site’s subscription does not affect the others.

  • The account outlives everything: even with no published site, your data stays.
  • An archived site keeps its content and its billing history.
  • A stopped subscription suspends the site, it does not delete it.

When you cannot find a setting, ask what it concerns: you (the dashboard), one business (“My site”), or payment (“Subscription”).
